The project that began as the inside front cover of the s.h.o.p. has continued to grow since its inception. Previously at an estimated 120 pages, Yurkovich's Altercations will now be featured as a 2-volume series, with each series containing 5 stories, each occuring during a different decade of the 20th century. Book I will cover the period of 1900 through 1949; Book II will cover 1950 thru 1999, respectively. Each volume will be approximately 80 pages. The stories are each as unique as the characters portrayed within, and events in the stories will occasionally mirror events from their specific time period. Violence and its escalation throughout the century plays a major theme in this work, from more simplified one-on-one altercations to confrontations in which the casualties total in the thousands. Altercations offers a fresh approach to the otherwise tiresome super-hero genre. Conceived long before the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the social reflection of Altercations seems all the greater in 2002 and beyond.
